About Us
Lynton Day Centre is a meeting point for the senior residents of East Linton and Dunpender Council Area, Tyninghame, Markle, Whitekirk, Stenton, Biel, Whittingehame, East Fortune and Monks Muir Park. Funded by East Lothian Council, the centre is run by a volunteer Management Committee, professionally trained staff and a very dedicated group of volunteers. We also offer a community outreach service. Our new leaflet tells you all about the Day Centre too, and you can read about our Vision and Values here.
The centre
We are open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm and are able to care for 16 people each day. We currently have spaces available for new members.
The Day Centre offers a safe, friendly, welcoming environment. Clients enjoy a home cooked 3 course meal, cooked in our own kitchen from fresh ingredients, together with a variety of activities, including musical entertainment, celebrations and outings. On warmer days there is a lovely courtyard garden to sit in or tend.
Transport to and from the centre is available with the Lynton Day Centre minibus.
Our social media
We have a variety of events, celebrations and entertainment planned throughout the year. If you would like to find our more about them please Get In Touch
For those unable to attend the Day Centre, we offer a Community Outreach Service which can include delivery to your home of a hot 3 course lunch meal, and a new service providing company or carer respite in our client’s home.
Our services are flexible and there is the option to combine centre-based activities with outreach.
We depend on a great team of volunteers and new volunteers are always made welcome. Please contact the centre if you’re interested – there are variety of tasks and shifts to choose from and we really need your support.
